CERESTRES: Increasing efficiency of water use in cereal crops through plant breeding and water management strategies: implications on biodiversity and climate change adaptation and mitigation
Description
Summary:
The general objective is to increase the resilience and sustainability of cereal farming systems by improving tolerance to abiotic (drought and heat) and biotic (leaf fungal diseases) stresses using a phenomic approach working across different levels: from breeding to agronomy. Two case studies will encompass a wide range of water availability: rainfed wheat and flooded rice.
