Field Phenomics

The AgroPhenoLab laboratory at IAS-CSIC offers a high-capacity field phenotyping service, data analysis, and instrumentation design for research in the field of crop improvement and agronomy. Field phenotyping is carried out through the use of field robots equipped with advanced sensors, such as spectrometers and LiDAR, enabling the measurement of important plant characteristics such as height, size, plant or tree structure, as well as the biochemical composition or other biophysical parameters of interest. These data can help researchers better understand how genotypes respond to different environmental conditions and biotic or abiotic stresses.
